Ahead of tonight's MBC planning committee, I have sent the following statement to the committee members, outlining my strong opposition to the Bunyards planning application:

Throughout my time as a Member of Parliament here in the Garden of England, overdevelopment has been one of the most persistent concerns raised by constituents.I have consistently worked to protect our precious green spaces from inappropriate development, from fighting to save Fant Farm in Maidstone

Helen Grant MP has written to Tonbridge and Malling Borough Councillors urging them to reject an application to build a new community of 1,300 homes to be known as Bradbourne on land east of Kiln Barn Road and west of Hermitage Lane in Aylesford.

Amidst the turmoil and failure caused by South East Water, South East Water CEO David Hinton shamefully refused to attend the Tunbridge Wells Borough Council Scrutiny Committee, on the very same day that invitations were sent by SEW invited MPs to a webinar to discuss bill increases.

Once again, South East Water has failed, and once again there has been a shocking lack of leadership.This is no isolated incident, it is now a familiar and unacceptable pattern across Kent and Sussex.It’s been like the nightmare before Christmas we experienced for 12 days in 2022.

“This is not just a bowling green; it is a vital recreational space that has supported the health, well-being, and social connection of residents for almost a century.“We are determined to do all we can to preserve it for community recreation.
