I am lucky to have visited many of our fantastic schools in Maidstone and The Weald in recent months. At each one, I am inspired by the thoughtfulness of the students and the dedication of their wonderful teachers.

We are so fortunate in Maidstone and The Weald to have some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK right on our doorsteps.  Unfortunately, at times, the perfection of our rural surroundings can be tempered by poor digital connectivity.

A Glorious day in the village of Sissinghurst played host to the long running annual dog show once again over the bank holiday.  Reputedly running for over 100 years the event attracts pooch lovers from all over Kent seeking plaudits for their furry friends.

Tackling Crime

Our new Government has hit the ground running. As well as preparing for Brexit and investing in our frontline NHS there is also a very welcome renewed focus on tackling crime in these early weeks of Boris Johnson’s premiership.

A group of 15 young people from Maidstone have been running a social action campaign as part of their National Citizens Service summer project.  The goal was to raise awareness of mental health issues and the services available for younger people in the Maidstone area.
