Thank You

As the dust begins to settle following last week’s General Election, I want to thank people in Maidstone and The Weald for again placing their trust in me as their MP. It is humbling to have your support and I am enormously privileged to continue to serve our fabulous community.

The hard work starts again now. I am looking forward to once more dedicating myself to the issues that matter to us here in Kent. My priorities will include: bettering our public transport and tackling congestion, improving access to GPs, securing more investment for our schools and preserving our precious green spaces. I also always want to hear from my constituents about the issues that matter to you; so please do get in touch anytime at

Further from home, I am delighted that we have now secured the strong Conservative majority which our country so desperately needed. The certainty this offers has been widely welcomed. We will now, of course, be able to deliver Brexit in the very early weeks of the new year; with the Withdrawal Bill expected to come back to Parliament this week.

Furthermore, the strength of our majority will also mean we can deliver on the other priorities of the British people. I am hugely excited about our plans to: invest a record amount of money in the NHS, recruit 20,000 new police officers, provide a funding increase for every school pupil and press ahead with protecting our environment.  I believe this Conservative majority Government can now help to truly unleash our country’s potential and it will have my fullest support in doing so.

Thank you so much once again for your support. I assure you that I will continue to work hard on the issues that matter to our community. In the meantime, may I take this opportunity to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas.
