October turned out to be an endless trailer for the Government’s Autumn Statement. We saw the full instalment last week and you can read my initial comments on Facebook here. In summary, I see it as an overt assault on the farming community and small businesses, which includes many independent providers of NHS services. The benefit to growth will be minimal according to the OBR, and inflationary extra borrowing is also likely to curtail Bank of England interest rate reductions. The fall-out continues…
