It was a pleasure to meet with Kirsty Brimelow KC, Chair of The Bar Council for 2026, to discuss the year ahead and her priorities for the profession. 


We had a constructive conversation about the importance of opposing restrictions on Jury Trials, tackling violence against women and girls, and improving outcomes for children in the justice system.


These issues closely align with my own priorities and underline the need for a justice system that is fair, accessible and commands public confidence. 


I look forward to working with Kirsty throughout 2026.
