Since Vladimir Putin launched an illegal invasion of Ukraine in 2022, over two million people have lost their lives, 3,000 children have been killed or injured, over 139,000km² of land has been contaminated, and at least 6.9 million Ukrainians have become refugees, of whom over 230,000 have been proudly welcomed to Britain.
The cost of Putin’s illegal invasion has been devastating, and it is a testament to the bravery of the Ukrainian people that they have fought so bravely in resisting the authoritarian imperialism Putin seeks to spread to Ukraine and the West.
In the face of Putin’s aggression, our support for Ukraine must not waver, and everything that can be done must be done to preserve the rights, freedoms and liberties of the Ukrainian people.
