Maidstone and Malling is being unacceptably plagued by potholes. Road users and taxpayers deserve better.
In January 2026, there were 7,200 reports of potholes, compared to 2,800 in January 2025 across Kent — an increase of 157%.
To get Britain working again, we have to fix Britain’s roads.
The next Conservative government will dedicate £112.5 million to deploy hundreds of modern, specialist road-repair machines directly to councils—fixing potholes faster, at scale, and where they are worst.
We will also introduce a single national reporting platform, replacing the current patchwork of local websites so drivers can report potholes quickly and repairs can be targeted where they are needed most.
