I am pleased to announce that residents across Maidstone and Malling will benefit from significant improvements to rail services on the Maidstone East line from December 2026, delivering more frequent, more convenient, and better connected journeys across the region.

The enhanced timetable will include:

  • Half-hourly services between Ashford and London Victoria throughout the day on weekdays and Saturdays.
  • An all-day half-hourly service at Barming station for the first time.
  • Additional weekday services between Maidstone East and Charing Cross, increasing frequencies to every 30 minutes from the start of service until midday.
  • Two services per hour to Charing Cross on Saturdays.
  • Up to four trains per hour to London from Maidstone East and West Malling for much of the day on weekdays and Saturdays.
  • A new hourly Sunday service between Maidstone East and Charing Cross operating throughout the day.

These improvements represent a major investment in local transport, providing better connectivity for commuters, residents, visitors, and businesses across Maidstone and Malling.

Reliable and accessible transport infrastructure is essential to supporting economic growth and improving quality of life. I will continue working to ensure our communities receive the transport services and investment they deserve.
