As your MP, I want to be clear that I take decisions on sensitive issues like abortion with the utmost seriousness. I am sure you will appreciate that I received a significant amount of correspondence, expressing strong views on both sides of this debate.
I abstained on this particular vote. This was not a decision made lightly, but one grounded in the importance of listening, reflection, and responsibility.
Please note that this Bill is now at the report stage and I will be keeping a close eye on any further changes when it comes back to Parliament for a third reading.
