PMQs takes place on Wednesdays when the House of Commons is sitting. Please click here to see the dates the House is not sitting. PMQs begins at 12.00 noon however, you should aim to arrive at Parliament for 11.20am in order to get through security and collect your tickets. Due to high demand, applications are limited to two tickets for any given date.


Guided tours of Parliament, given by a professional guide, are available free of charge. Tours depart approximately every 5 minutes, and last approximately 75 minutes. Tours are usually available between the following times:

Mondays & Tuesdays 0900 - 1145 Full Tour
Wednesdays 0900 - 1000 Full Tour
  1000 - 1145 (tour will not enter the House of Commons chamber)
Thursdays No tours
Fridays 1530 - 1700 Full Tour

Please note that tours are not recommended for young children as there is a lot of walking. Pushchairs are allowed, but larger models will not fit in certain areas. Bags or luggage larger than those permitted in aircraft cabins may be refused entry.

There are 334 spiral stone steps with only a small respite. There is no lift; therefore, visitors should feel confident about making the climb and descent. For safety and comfort flat shoes should be worn.

Owing to the nature of the tour it is not suitable for all visitors and requires a certain degree of good health and fitness. People who suffer from vertigo (fear of height) or claustrophobia (fear of confined / enclosed spaces) are advised not to attend the tour. The tour is not suitable for expectant mothers.

Visitors should not undertake the tour if they are feeling unwell or are experiencing known health problems that would affect their ability to complete the tour safely, as the tour is reasonably strenuous, and there is no lift. Such ill health problems may include the following: heart condition (e.g. angina), Asthma or other breathing related difficulties, Epilepsy, High blood pressure, Back or leg problems, Recent injury or operation.

The Clock Guide reserves the right to refuse access to the Tower if he/she feels that a visitor's physical or mental well being may endanger themselves or any other participants of the tour.

Visitors are requested to follow the Clock Guide's instructions at all times while within the Westminster Clock Tower and the adjacent area.
