Friday 6th January 2012, Maidstone, Kent: Local MP for Maidstone and the Weald (Con), Helen Grant, visited Maidstone Grammar School for Girls for their Sixth Form Speech Day. The occasion marked the return of A-Level students who sat exams last year, but were returning to receive their much deserved certificates and prizes.
Speaking at the event was former pupil turned senior Headhunter and part-time writer, Sue Ransom. Following Sue's excellent speech students collected their awards and accolades, which represented the most successful year Maidstone Grammar School for Girls has ever had.
Helen said, "I can only congratulate Mary Smith (Headteacher) and her team. Her school is a testament to the hard work and commitment of all the staff at MGGS, not only to the academic success of the pupils but also the fantastic pastoral care.
The day was a huge success, with a terrific speech from Sue Ransom, and of course a record breaking year for the pupils. It was a great day for a great local school."
And great news about #parenting today. It will provide great support for new mums and dads
