Helen Grant, Member of Parliament for Maidstone and the Weald, met two budding young entrepreneurs when she visited the Trinity Foyer Project in Maidstone today.
Trinity Foyer is a charitable organisation which undertakes remarkable work with young single homeless people aged 16-24 who have low to medium support needs. All Trinity Foyer applicants and residents must be actively seeking, or engaged in work, education or training.
As well as the dedicated staff, Helen met Samuel Harrison, who only moments before the MP arrived, had received a handsome cheque from the Princes Trust, to start his own skateboard business called MRKD. Samuel now hopes to find a redundant warehouse in Maidstone, at which to design and build an indoor skate park. Helen also met Emrah Mehmet who is a self-taught break dancer and is looking to start his own company teaching the skills of break dancing to other young people.
"I was so taken by the positive attitude and sheer enthusiasm of both the staff at Trinity Foyer and the two young men that I met. I sincerely congratulate all and wish them well in their endeavours. I would encourage anyone who feel that they could help them in any way, to contact the Trinity Foyer Project. These young people need and deserve all the assistance that they can get, to make a brighter future for themselves." Said Helen.
